They just debuted and could be wrestling for the titles soon.
The Motor City Machine Guns have now officially signed contracts to be members of the Friday Night SmackDown roster, as revealed by WWE in the hours leading up to this week’s episode in Columbia. They also announced they would be a part of a triple threat match with the winner advancing to next week’s show to take on the winner of a separate triple threat match.
The winner of that match would be next in line for a shot at The Bloodline and the WWE tag team championship.
Well, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin looked fantastic in their debut on the big stage, defeating Los Garza and former champions A-Town Down Under to advance. Earlier in the evening, DIY pinned Pretty Deadly — so did The Street Profits but they pinned the wrong man — to book their ticket.
Now, the Machine Guns are just one win away from wrestling for a championship in WWE and they’ve only had one match.
Amazing.
Also booked for next week: World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER comes to town for a face-to-face meeting with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and United States Champion LA Knight will act as special guest referee for the Game 7 match between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes.
